Nomex Type 410 is a calendered insulation paper which offers high inherent dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility and resilience. Nomex Type 411 (uncalendered) is available in thicknesses from 0.13mm to 0.58mm. Nomex 410, will maintain 300 V/mil (12 kV/mm) dielectric strength for several hours ar 400°C (750°F). Nomex has been widely adopted as electrical insulation for liquid and dry transformers, motors, and generators. Often used as soft cushioning material or when conformability and impregnability are of importance. Nomex is made entirely from synthetic aramid polymer in two forms: short fibers (floc) and microscopic fibrous binder particles (fibrids). Other Types: Nomex® Type 414, Type 418, Nomex® Pressboard, T992, T993 and T994 Type 410 is the original form of Nomex paper, and is widely used in a majority of electrical equipment applications. Available in 11 thicknesses (2 to 30 mils, or .05 to .76 mm), Type 410 is used in almost every known electrical sheet insulation application.
