Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting. She supported her hobby by working in government contracts, while taking classes at the Oklahoma School of Photography. It was in 1995, after a year of cancer remediation, that Debra decided to make her passion and her profession one and the same. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. Debra Van Swearingen has had a passion for photography since the age of 12. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. Her studio is in the artistically vibrant Paseo District of Oklahoma City.
