The uniform pleated shape is intentionally designed to maximize airflow and to enhance particle holding capacity. It is given a MERV 8 filter rating, which means that it is a medium-efficiency filter that removes airborne particles smaller than 1 micron. It is constructed of 100% synthetic material that provides excellent particulate efficiency with relatively low resistance to airflow. This means that it removes a large variety of indoor air pollutants, including dust mites, bacteria, mold spores, pet dander, pollen, lint, and smoke.Unlike regular fiberglass filters, the Accumulair Gold filter uses electrostatic filtration, which is a special filtration media that uses an electric charge to attract and trap air particles.
