Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting. The plants and animals that grew and lived around her have been a huge inspiration for her illustration work. Her childhood was spent in a house in the woods where she spent countless hours making tiny animals out of beads. While attending the Rhode Island School of Design, Sara developed a love for all types of printmaking. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. She currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and does her illustrating in various sunny living rooms either at her own apartment or in those of friends and family. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors.
