This Controlflex hub is RoHS and REACH compliant and manufactured by Schmidt Kupplung in Germany. The use of a keyway prevents the coupling from slipping on the shaft if over torqued. This double insert type has higher torque capacity than single insert styles. It is longer than equivalent single insert Controlflex types to couple systems with wide distances between shaft ends. Ruland supplied Controlflex couplings are a lightweight, low inertia, and zero-backlash coupling designed for use in encoders, tachometers, resolvers, and light duty power transmission applications. This keyed clamp style double insert type thin hub requires the user to mate it with one other hub and two acetal inserts. It has a balanced design and can accommodate speeds of up to 10000 RPM. The multiple piece construction allows for a highly customizable coupling that easily combines clamp hubs with inch, metric, keyed, and keyless bores. It has a narrow width for use in applications with short shafts that may not be able to protrude completely through the clamp of a regularly sized hub. This hub has a 13mm bore, 5mm keyway, 56.0mm OD, and 12.0mm length.
